Reporting pieces - Chilean newspaper "El Mercurio"

2011-2014

After my undergraduate studies I got the opportunity to be a journalist in one of the largest-circulation newspaper in Chile, El Mercurio. It was a lifetime dream that came true.

Over the first two years I worked for the Sunday edition, which is focused on long and in-depth stories, covering current affairs and publishing profiles, interviews, and stories.

Later, I became a financial journalist working for the daily coverage of financial markets and regulation, a position in which I learned techniques for the coverage of economic crises and financial scandals.

Beyond the topics, the newspaper provided me with the chance to work closely with other journalists, designers, experts in infographics and photographers. I worked closely with all of them as I learned to plan my articles from the written content perspective and always considering what quotes, photographs, infographics or graphs could I add in order to encourage and facilitate the reading.

This multidisciplinary work experience has encouraged me to always look for collaboration in my jobs.
